My Childhood

This is the famous Shibuya crossing in Tokyo - the world's busiest crosswalk outside of the extremely busy Shibuya train station.

I spent my teenage years in Tokyo, sent to live with my aunt and uncle, where I first became interested in fashion and design. Japan is the epitome of the crossroads between simplicity and style.

Locals like to look different, but there is a method behind the madness of colours. The design on their clothes are extremely similar, but everyone picks a different colour, or add on accessories, to look unique. Bold colours are no stranger to the Japanese, and they demand the warmest outerwear while being the lightest to wear.

Japan x Netherlands is the culmination of my two design experiences, one in Japan where I first became interested in fashion and Amsterdam, where I spent my formative years in design school. Combine bold colours and unique European flavours - I present to you my latest collection - JxN.
